The Data Management Association (DAMA) is a global organization consisting of data professionals who work to improve quality of data. . DAMA's primary task is to provide education services, keeping members current on the latest thinking regarding data managment. This is accomplished primarily through local chpaters (located in major cities) and through an annual 1-week conference and offering presenations to over a thousand participants.
My role in DAMA in the past six years is to be president of DAMA Houston and sit on the international board as either VP of on-line services, VP of Chapter Services, or Liaison to the chapters.
